Business Development Executive

We are looking for an energetic, driven and ambitious person with a passion for sales. The ideal candidate will excel in growing sales through targeted business growth. If this is you, we would love to hear from you. Based in The House Hotel, Galway, right in the vibrant Latin Quarter, you will be responsible for selling space in Galway’s newest addition, The Yard Kitchen / Bar, along with the responsibility of bedroom sales for The House Hotel.
The role will involve researching opportunities, targeting events business for The Yard, generating leads and converting sales for bedroom business, and planning of advertising campaigns and promotions in line with sales targets, with the support of a Marketing Manager. This role is suitable to someone who will hit the ground running, work on their own initiative and thrive from hitting targets.

Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Identify new potential business to generate food and beverage revenue for The Yard Kitchen/Bar and The House Hotel
  • Ensure there is a continuous pipeline of enquiries to convert
  • Weekly sales calls to companies and organisations targeting new business opportunities
  • To present to potential clients
  • To plan and execute a quarterly sales plan, ensuring the sales cycle is strong
  • To proactively promote The Yard Kitchen / Bar as a social hub and meeting space for events, launch parties, BBQ’s, and other seasonal offerings
  • To proactively promote and sell The House Hotel to corporate companies for bedroom business and potentially exclusive residential events
  • To manage and grow the hotels database
  • To utilise a CRM to manage daily, weekly and monthly sales activities and prospecting
  • To maintain and grow a customer database to target regularly for lead generation purposes
  • Attend relevant networking events and becoming part of the local community
  • Be a brand Ambassador for The Yard Kitchen / Bar and The House Hotel
  • Achieving financial targets for the year
  • Building existing relationships for further potential business
Key Requirements:
  • 2 years previous sales experience in hospitality – bars, restaurants, hotels
  • Proven experience in achievement of sales targets through proactive Business development
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion to achieve targets, showing a strong sense of urgency on activities and client focus
  • There is a strong career path with the group with the opportunity to grow to Sales and Marketing Manager and Director of Sales level within the group

Bar & Restaurant Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Input in the preparation of the annual F&B operating budget and financial plans
  • Monitoring budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labour costs
  • Reporting on a month to month basis- Trading review and justification for any variances
  • Liaise with other department heads, identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue. Driving cross-selling promotions that deliver great experiences for our guests
  • Ensuring all credit and financial transactions are handled in a secure manner
  • Scheduling of day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work
  • Establishing of performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance
  • Training all team members in compliance with governmental regulations. Ensure staff are properly trained in quality and service standards and have the tools and equipment to carry out job duties
  • Ensuring that all food and beverage facilities and equipment are cleaned, and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume
  • Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals
  • Ensure that the Hotel brand standard is being achieved across all food and beverage products and services
  • Co-ordinate and where relevant host all food and beverage events
  • Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Analysing guest insights to identify and meet customer expectations and build on guest loyalty
  • Manage local food and beverage marketing programs and promotions for the hotel
  • Monitoring local competitors and industry trends.
  • Preparing function sheets, forecasts, rotas and reports for week/month ahead
  • Ensure that all booking requests are being responded to in a prompt and appropriate manner
  • Managing the employee holiday calendar
  • Ensure food is prepared and served within HACCP guidelines; collaborative effort with the Chef
Skills

Accounts Assistant

We currently have an exciting vacancy for an Accounts Assistant to join our team in the House Hotel. Reporting to the Cluster Financial Controller you will be responsible for the day to day financial duties within the department.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform credit card, bank, debtors and creditors reconciliation and income audit.
  • Responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Counting daily cash and preparing daily lodgements.
  • Assisting the month end process.
  • Undertake any reports as requested by the Cluster Financial Controller & GM
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years general accounting experience: payables, receivables, reconciliations, reporting, cash management and journals experience in the Hospitality sector.
  • Volante & Hotsoft experience highly desirable.
  • Strong Excel knowledge
  • Exposure to SAGE is a plus
  • The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator with exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills.

Accommodation Assistant

Reporting to the Accommodation Supervisor & Manager, the Accommodation Assistant will execute housekeeping duties for the hotel including preparing rooms for guests and ensuring our general areas are maintained to the highest standard.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare rooms and general areas to the House standard.
  • Highlight any items or areas that need maintenance.
  • Be open for work in other departments.
  • Requirements:
  • Experience in housekeeping and cleaning is desired but not essential.
  • Customer focus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ambition to develop.

Experienced Cocktail Bar Tender

Responsibilities:
  • Serving top quality cocktails in a pressurised environment - proven experience is essential
  • Ensure a professional, friendly and courteous service to all guests.
  • To ensure that guests are warmly welcomed to the bar and that orders are taken efficiently.
  • To upsell beverage by guest interaction and ensuring that a great atmosphere is created in the bar.
  • To promote and create innovative cocktails and special promotions. 
  • To always be familiar with product offering(i.e. the menu, beverages on offer,wine list, etc.).
  • To ensure that all food and beverage products are served efficiently and in accordance with the company standard of presentation.
  • To ensure that the restaurant, bar and all food & beverage outlets are properly prepared and set-up prior to and after service.
  • To carry out cash handling procedures in accordance with Company policy
  • To assist with stocktaking duties when required.
Requirements:

Food & Beverage Server 

The Yard Kitchen/ Bar at The House Hotel is now recruiting for experienced and enthusiastic food & beverage servers to join the team
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year experience in a similar role and be available and flexible to work a variety of working hours. Mid week morning availability is essential.

The Position
  • Have previous experience working in a Hotel Food & Beverage Department is advantageous
  • To assist in the smooth, efficient running of the restaurant, lobby and room service
  • To report daily to the supervisor with regards to service, comments and any problems encountered
  • To ensure that guests receive a high standard of service and quality at all times
